LV AND COACH BAGGIES: DEAR OWNERS, DO YOU KNOW US ?
Ever since we were young girls, we dream of getting a Louis Vuitton (LV) bag, a Coach bag etc. After we have grown up, having the purchasing power, we tend to realize there dreams. 1 branded bag after another and another and there goes our pay checks. I seriously wonder how many of you out there truly understand the histories of there bags.

For those who already have 10 or more Louis Vuitton or Coach bags, yet still ignorant of what you are carrying everyday, lets start with Louis Vuitton. As the brand name goes , Louis Vuitton is the eponymous founder of the LV brand. He was born in Jura, France. Alright, you might have already known this. But do you know he actually travelled from his home town to Paris (400km) merely by foot? No one taught him how to make quality bags. He worked hard and learnt from his experiences until he got himself well established in his field. Thing took flight only after Napoleon III of France appointed him as Layetier to his wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo.
On the other hand, Coach's history does not date back as long as Louis Vuitton's. Coach was founded in 1941, in Manhattan, New York. do you know Coach was not known as Coach until the 1960s? It was formally called Manhattan Leather Bags. Yes, nothing glorious and it was only a family-owned business with 6 leatherworkers. Talking about leather, what IS leather? I bet you will surely raise your hand or even your feet up and answer "I know"! However, the question is, how much do you really know? Well, there are actually 4 type of leathers; full-grain, top grain, corrected-grain and split leather. According to Wikipedia, leather is a durable and flexible material created via the tanning of animal rawhide or skin, primarily, cattle hide.To make things simple, you are mostly carrying cow skin.
Back to Coach, Initially, Coach's bags were made of hues of brown and tans which were rather bo
ring, nothing compared to your Coach bags today. to Coach loyalists, you really have to thank Bonnie Cashin (Have you even been heard of her?)
she was the one who revolutionized Coach's bags by introducing side pockets, coin purses and brighter colors. Coach's hallmark, the silver toggle was invented by her as well.
If you are aware of what I have mentioned above, thumb up, you arer great! If not, I strongly suggest you start reading. Do not be a swallow lady, someone who only wants what others have. As for those who go for fake LV or Coach bags, stop doing that! Firstly, you killing your beloved brand. secondly, you are just labeling yourself as an idiotic wanna-be.
